about

“Would You Buy This” by Jimi Joel is the second song of the AKRONYM 001 compilation. It’s the first release by the same-titled label from Berlin. The compilation is packed with six tracks and features the uprising artists Trudge and Exilles alongside newcomers, who are part of the AKRONYM artist collective. As different as the minds of the record, all tracks have their very own character and unify in their approach of early uptempo techno and trance. Addressed and manipulated by the computer, you’ll find your determination here.

With “Would You Buy This”, Jimi Joel is not afraid to ask drilling questions to the listeners and hold up a mirror up to them. The brutal and uncompromising Hard Techno elements blend perfectly with the melancholy of the floating melodies, making it hard to answer these significant questions. “Would You Buy This” has already been supported live by renowned techno artists as Kobosil, Dax J, Paula Temple and SHDW & Obscure Shape.
